Dave VanderWerp

Technical Editor

As Technical Editor at CAR and DRIVER, Dave VanderWerp is responsible for the majority of performance testing at the home office, as well as writing vehicle reviews and compiling specification tables. VanderWerp is a techie by trade, graduating from the University of Michigan in 2001 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. During his time at U of M, he was employed part-time as a road warrior, also known as a whipping boy, for CAR and DRIVER. Before joining CAR and DRIVER, he held engineering positions with both General Motors and Robert Bosch Corp. In his free time, VanderWerp races a 125cc go-kart in the summer, and in the winter he regularly participates in autocrosses on frozen lakes and campaigned a Civic in wheel-to-wheel ice racing.
