DESIGN 100

Design 100 celebrates the 100 people, places and things in design as chosen by our editors and showcased in our annual Design 100 issue. This high-profile, lifestyle-focused marketing opportunity creates a unique dialogue with members of the design community, exposing advertiser products to affluent tastemakers and modern in-market consumers. (May)

We are extending our ownership of design by creating the Design 100 exhibit which will tour design centers and top museums such as the Museum of Arts & Design and LACMA.

MODERN BY DESIGN

Metropolitan Home takes showhouses to a new level by designing and hosting two in one year with the Modern by Design project. Metropolitan Home will secure luxury 8-room condo properties in 2 key markets such as, NY and LA. Local designers will be paired with top sponsors to evoke their brand’s essence within a specific room. Each sponsor will ultimately have two brand interpretations – one room in each market. The program will be promoted via customized events (i.e. launch parties, celebrity chef dinners, design seminars), in-book sections and online microsites with charity tie in, providing affluent consumers with a first-hand look at the lifestyle and influence of a metropolitan home. (Summer/Fall)

WHAT’S NEXT?

Following the success of the inaugural event in 2007, Metropolitan Home returns in fall 2008 with a high-profile exhibition spotlighting modern design’s rising stars. The What’s Next? Exhibition will spotlight emerging talents – selected by our renowned editorial staff – in the areas of interior and product design as well as architecture. The exhibit will showcase examples of their work (photos, videos, models and more) in an engaging display. Just as in the pages of the magazine, this spectacular exhibition will celebrate our progressive vision of modern design and resonate with our affluent readers along with influential industry insiders across the country. (October)

DIVINE DESIGN

For the third year, Metropolitan Home supports Divine Design, an annual charity shopping event in LA that raises awareness and funds for Project Angel Food. Divine Design is a five-day shopping event that sells donated product from top home, fashion, beauty and children’s designers and manufacturers. (December)

DESIGN CARES

Metropolitan Home and the New York Design Center will once again co-host Design Cares to benefit a top charity. This chic and festive charity celebration will be held during the holiday season and will attract trendsetters to our silent auction of great products who define NYC’s luxury market and their clients.
